A lifetime resident of Caroline County, Joe has been a professional photographer since 1978. He opened his first studio in Bowling Green, and has since moved to his beautiful home-studio - open since 1990. He received his degree in photography, many moons ago, from Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Joe enjoys hiking, camping, fossil hunting, coaching baseball, and of course, taking photographs! He has served as the Governor of the Northern District of the Virginia Professional Photographers Association; and has been a member of that association and the National branch, the PPA, for many, many years. Joe loves his job because he gets to be a part of special milestones in so many great families' lives, and help capture those memories for them forever. | | | | |
Jessi Tschirn
Jessi is a multi-tasking, multi-talented, amazing photographer's assistant. She has worked for Joe since 1997 doing everything from shooting a second camera at special events, to retouching and digital artwork on the images. She also handles in studio projects such as album creation, graphic design, web design, technology support, equipment management, and much more. She can also occasionally be talked into shooting certain events solo. She is the detail person that makes sure clothing looks good, dust and stray hairs vanish, and Joe always has what he needs to take beautiful pictures. Jessi earned her BFA in Interior Design from VCU in 2003, with a minor in Art History. (But likes photography and photoshop a lot better!) She also paints, knits, gardens, beads, sews, stitches, and plays too many MMORPGs. She has been a staff member of the VPPA since 2005. | |
